School Waste Management Education – SHARP

Sharp Corporation is a Japanese multinational company that designs and produces electronic products. The company is headquartered in Sakai-ku, Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. This year Sharp collaborated with Kertabumi in a series of Sharp Eco-Bition events in managing waste, especially plastic packaging waste and cardboard packaging waste into useful items that can be reused as an effort tooptimize the use of resources and reduce negative impacts on the environment. And also educate students about the importance of waste management as a circular economic chain.

Education about waste management itself is very important because it has a significant impact on the environment and provides knowledge and awareness to students about the importance of good and responsible waste management. In doing so, it can help maintain a clean environment, protect health, and achieve better environmental sustainability. The role of the younger generation is also very important in waste management. They are strong agents of change in encouraging positive changes to environmental problems, including waste management to create a more sustainable future. By taking action now, they can inspire and guide the next generation to have a greater awareness of the need to protect the environment and manage waste wisely.

Sharp Eco-Bition was carried out in several cities and several schools by holding seminars and practicing recycling plastic packaging waste into items of ergonomic value such as book covers, cellphone cases and envelopes which were filled by the Kertabumi team as resource persons.Apart from that, Sharp Ecobition also presents a boothArt & Craft In order to increase visitors’ awareness of the importance of protecting the environment through recycling activities of used cardboard waste facilitated by the Kertabumi Recycling Center, every booth visitor, especially children, will be invited to recycle used cardboard waste into a craft that has useful value.
