UOB Heartbeat Run 2024

The UOB Heartbeat Run is part of the UOB Global Heartbeat Run/Walk, an annual volunteer and fundraising initiative held in the 18 countries where UOB operates, to support a variety of activities focused on the arts, children and education, while raising more funds of IDR 350 million to support the education of deaf students in Indonesia.

In this activity Kertabumi took part in booth activities where there were various exhibitions of recycled products, a workshop on recycling bottle cap waste using the injection (melting) method and a workshop on recycling plastic bag waste using the heat press method. Kertabumi also provides 2 drop boxes to accommodate plastic bottle type waste and paper type waste which will be taken and recycled after the activity is completed at the Kertabumi workshop.

This activity was organized by UOB Indonesia, which is a foreign bank whose majority shares are owned by United Overseas Bank from Singapore. This bank was founded on August 31, 1956 with the name PT Bank Buana Indonesia. In 2010, PT Bank UOB Indonesia was formed through the merger of PT Bank UOB Indonesia (formerly known as PT United Overseas Bank Bali) and PT Bank UOB Buana. The UOB Heartbeat Run project is important because it combines sporting activities with social and environmental initiatives and inspires active participation in building healthier, more caring and sustainable communities.

The UOB Heartbeat Run was held in the Senayan Park area of ​​Central Jakarta on Saturday, 28 September 2024 and was attended by more than 3000 UOB Indonesia colleagues and was held simultaneously in 5 cities, namely, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya and Medan. The 2024 UOB Heartbeat Run was also attended by the President Director of UOB Indonesia, namely Hendra Gunawan.
