Waste collection at school is an activity that involves students, teachers and school staff to collect and manage waste generated in the school environment. The main aim of this activity is to maintain cleanliness, create a healthy learning environment, and educate students about the importance of good and correct waste management.
Waste management in schools is very important for various reasons related to health, education, the environment and the economy. The role of the younger generation is also very important in waste management. They are strong agents of change in encouraging positive changes to environmental problems, including waste management to create a more sustainable future.
This activity was organized by PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk (TCID) which produces and trades skin care, hair care, cosmetics and perfume products. Founded in 1969 under the name PT Tancho Indonesia and is a joint venture between Mandom Corporation and NV The City Factory. This project is one of the programs of PT Mandom Indonesia TBK together with Kertabumi Recycling Center.
This waste collection activity was held in November 2023 and lasted for 3 weeks in 15 schools in the Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi areas. Around 2.3 tonnes of Anorganic waste was collected during this project.
