This event is part of the Katadata SAFE 2025: Green for Resilience series, and is connected with TEMAN KOTA by Katadata – a community movement to enliven Blok M, in line with the Jakarta Provincial Government’s mission to revitalize Blok M Hub and Taman Bendera Pusaka.

Wise waste management is crucial for this project, as many visitors attend the event. Therefore, we ensure that all waste generated is properly managed according to its type. Ikbal Alexander, an environmental influencer and waste management expert said that without proper waste management, these activities risk polluting the environment and increasing the burden on landfills.

This activity took place on Saturday, August 22, 2025, at Blok M Hub. There were two bottle waste stations. The activity lasted from11:00 AM to 09:00 PM Volunteers were responsible for educating visitors about waste sorting, collecting, transporting, and managing waste generated in the area. Three sacks of waste weighing 9 kg of bottles were collected during this event. All collected waste was then transported to the Kertabumi Recycling Center in South Tangerang for further sorting, weighing, and recycling.

The 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day is a historic and meaningful moment for all Indonesians. This commemoration is not only a time to reflect on the struggles of the heroes who fought for independence but also an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of nationalism, unity, and care for the surrounding environment.

The “Bersih Merdeka HUT RI 80” program was conducted in 10 strategic locations across the Monas and Sudirman areas, in collaboration with Bumitori and the Ministry of Creative Economy, involving 50 volunteers who carried out a cleanup campaign along key public roads and spaces.

Ikbal Alexander as the founder or Kertabumi and an environmental influencer said that it is a common reality that large-scale events—especially those with massive public participation—inevitably generate a significant amount of waste. The celebration of Independence Day, typically filled with competitions, parades, bazaars, and various public events, is no exception. Without proper waste management, these activities risk polluting the environment and increasing the burden on landfills.

This activity took place on August 17, 2025, in line with the celebration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The activity lasted from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Volunteers were responsible for educating visitors about waste sorting, collecting, transporting, and managing waste generated in the area.

Waste Collection Points (10 Locations):

Lippo Mall Nusantara

The total amount of organic and inorganic waste collected during the Indonesian Independence Day celebration event nearly reached 70 tons, and the total amount of inorganic waste collected was 16 trash bags, equivalent to 61.2 kg, gathered from 10 locations. This amount corresponds to an emissions reduction of 304.29 KgCO₂e.
All the collected waste was then transported to the Kertabumi Recycling Center in South Tangerang for further sorting, weighing, and recycling.

Waste management in schools is very important for various reasons related to health, education, the environment and the economy. The role of the younger generation is also very important in waste management. They are strong agents of change in encouraging positive changes to environmental problems, including waste management to create a more sustainable future.

This activity was organized by PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk (TCID) which produces and trades skin care, hair care, cosmetics and perfume products.
Indonesia Outdoor Festival, often abbreviated as Indofest, is an annual event that focuses on outdoor activities and equipment, adventure and natural tourism in Indonesia. This event is a place for nature lovers, adventurers and the outdoor industry to gather, share experiences and discover the latest products.

This time Indofest 2024 has a theme GEAR (Green, Equality, Action, Responsibility). One of his concerns is environmental sustainability by starting to cultivate simple habits, namely your trash your responsibility (responsible for the waste produced) up to less waste (minimal waste). This is in line with Kertabumi’s vision and mission which focuses on finding sustainable solutions to waste problems and climate change through a creative economic approach.

This activity was organized by Consina Segara Alam, which is a garment company to meet the needs of mountain climbing activities or other nature lover activities such as Trekking, Paragliding, Fishing, diving, caving, rafting and outbound.

This activity took place on 4-7 July 2024, located at the Jakarta Convention Center, Hall B Senayan, South Jakarta, and was attended by 133 exhibitors, 18 communities and various performers such as music performances, discussions and workshops, one of which was attended by Kertabumi. For your information, this event was attended by more than 50 thousand visitors during the event and produced around 436kg of residual waste and 75kg of inorganic waste.

Waste management is a series of activities and actions taken to manage waste efficiently and responsibly. Waste management involves various processes such as collection, transportation, processing and recycling. The main goal of waste management is to reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment, human health and aesthetics.

This time Kertabumi participated in the 12th anniversary activities of Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) to carry out waste management by providing separate waste disposal facilities, educating visitors to sort waste, recording and weighing all the waste produced and later all the waste collected will be taken to Kertabumi workshop to be recycled into new products.
