Plastic waste is becoming an increasingly urgent environmental issue around the world, including in Indonesia. The growing volume of plastic waste, combined with low recycling rates, has made plastic waste a serious threat to ecosystems, especially in water bodies and soil. To tackle this challenge, collaborative and educational efforts are needed that target all layers of society, including children.

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Program is an approach aimed at reducing the environmental impact of products produced by manufacturers, in accordance with the mandate of Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry (Permen LHK) No. 75 of 2019. PT Mondelez Indonesia is collaborating with Kertabumi to collect waste through the establishment of Waste Banks in schools.

#BijakPlastikSejakDini is an initiative by Mondelez Indonesia focused on raising environmental awareness and inspiring children to manage plastic waste wisely from a young age.

The #BijakPlastikSejakDini program has entered its 4th year, and in 2024 it runs from July 2024 to June 2025, involving 12 elementary schools.
